Cancel whenever you like. Nothing is held hostage.

Cancelling

You can cancel at any time from the billing section of your dashboard. Cancelling stops the next renewal. It does not end your current year: you keep everything the plan includes until the period you have already paid for runs out.

We do not ask why, and there is no retention call.

Refunds

Within 30 days of your first payment, write to help@essayguard.io and we will refund it in full. No conditions.

After 30 days, an annual plan is not refunded on a pro rata basis. You keep access until the end of the year you paid for, and it does not renew once you cancel.

If something is broken and we cannot fix it, that is a refund regardless of when you tell us. A tool that does not do what this site says it does is our problem, not a support ticket.

What happens to your sessions

Cancelling does not delete anything. Recorded sessions stay readable within their retention window, and you keep the ability to export anything still inside it. We do not hold a student’s record against an unpaid invoice.

What you lose on cancellation is what the paid plan added: courses beyond the free allowance, the longer retention window, and the printable evidence report.

Students

Students never pay for EssayGuard and never enter payment details, so nothing on this page applies to them. A student cannot be charged for the ability to show that they wrote their own essay.

Departments and campuses

Department and Campus licences are invoiced, and the terms of the agreement or purchase order govern them rather than this page. Where they are silent, the 30 day term above applies.

If your institution needs different terms in writing, ask, and we will put it in the agreement rather than leaving it to interpretation.
